Doug Menuez Rides Alongside Legendary Surf & Skateboard Shaper Jeff Ho

With support from Leica Camera USA, Riding the West Wind, is Doug Menuez’s latest short film for the brand that not only reflects their commitment to craftsmanship and design but also documents the beliefs that drive them all — of the importance to continue to show up, to create and to experiment with ideas.

Shot in and around Venice Beach, Doug takes us through a day with founder Jeff Ho and his friends, ultimately inviting us to listen in as Ho describes throughout what is at the heart of his creativity and his influence over the skate and surf culture around the world.

After opening Jeff Ho Surfboards in Santa Monica in the early 1970’s he formed the Zephyr Surf Team and Zephyr Skate Team, also known as the Z-Boys, and helped spark a revolution. Jeff has spent over 50 years designing and building his singular surfboards and skateboards, endlessly searching for artistic perfection. His work has widely influenced skate and surf culture in Southern California and around the world.
